This nesting box has been handcrafted to encourage a habitat for Screech Owls. These owls tend to live in all forest types such as pine scrubs, cypress swamps, sand hills and other agricultural environments. A preferred woodland area that is interspersed with an open clearing, meadow, or field needed for hunting. Aside of these very typical habitats, Screech Owls have been known to also reside in suburban locations where trees, shrubs and lawns are suitable grounds. Nesting is diverse throughout the United States and part of Mexico for this bird, but commonly they are found during the late winter and throughout the spring laying eggs. A typical clutch is 2 to 6 eggs whitish in color. Their diet consist of mammals, insects and small birds.
